Essentially fights on Carnage FR and Terries are won on the ground. The only place where this isn't true is on the west flag on terries because this flag can be contested from the water. If you get the NW SE or middle position the most souls I would reccomend to get for this flag would be 4 plus a wight to deal with any trouble makers that may come along. Why are souls useless anyhwere else? Well the first answer is wights. Souls biggest advantage is they can be over terrain infantry can not traverse like deep water. The deep water near all starting points and flags is an ideal place to put 1-2 wights. 1 wight can easily take out 8 souls this is trading 24 points for 3. If some one else has invested all their points that could have been used on thrall on souless then you should easily be able to capture his flag and destroy his army due to pure numerical superiority. Souls have to come off the water if they want to grab a flag. And a soul has even weaker health then an archer and is no match for infantry guarding a flag. What about the middle you ask? Well some one else WILL get souless it is almost a given. And these souls will get into a fight over the middle flag. Usually the middle flags souls are destroyed and some one elses souls will be around to harrass the middle flags guards. After the guards are weakened severly you can run in 14 warriors chop down the flag guards and push off any souless. Then you can retreat to the safety of your base (and wight) with a flag and having only loss 1 maybe 2 warriors. This same idea works for terries except it can be executed at the end and usually with 4 or 5 warriors. Let the other souls do your work for you then move it swiftly with superior ground force and snatch the flag away. If you see 8 souls harrasing a thrall guard of 15 on a flag wait until the souls have whittled the guard army down to 5 or so then bring in your force of warriors to clean up. If you don't use the wights on souless you will usually get a chance to use them on an army coming after your flag. I have played carnage games where I have wighted the center army that barged out at me and then slaughtered it (gaining some of my warriors 4-5 kills a piece and not even in the yellow health bar yet). After this happens another army has attacked me and I have defeated it too due to the vets I had accumulated. Now if I had gotten 8 souls I would never had been able to do this because my army would have lacked the man power to defeat 2 armies even if one had been wighted to hell. This is not a valid bacon strat because usually the bacon ends up in a place where only souls can get at it. This can however be used on LMoTH you just have to time it right so you come in at the end and aren't picked to death by enemy souls in the first minutes.
