Complicated Gametypes: by DeadMan --------------------------------- --------------- Assasin: You need 1 monster type per team, flagged only for the assasin gametype, it should not be uncontrollable (unless you are psycotic) or tradeable (unless you want to do a similar situation as in stampede- see below). Weather or not you want veterans is up to you. Place the assasin unit, and double click on it. Make sure it is flagged as "Netgame Objective". Unless you are doing the stampede method with units explained below, no assasin unit should be invisible. --------------- Stampede: I prefer a tradeable stampede set... If you arent making a map with tradeable units (slugfest, riot, etc.), or you just dont want tradeable stampede units, skip this step. TRADEABLE STAMPEDE UNITS: Make sure you have 2 monster types for each team, 1 is tradeable the other is not. Both should be uncontrollable, and veterans are up to you (veterans are useless unless the unit can attack, but attacking stampede units suck). Make sure the units are only flagged for the stampede (or rugby, is how its listed) gametype. NON-TRADABLE UNITS: make a monster type for each team, non tradeable, uncontrollable, and only flagged for the stampede (or rugby, is how its listed) gametype. Place the units on the mesh. If you are doing tradeable units, make sure you only put one untradeble stampede unit on, and make the rest with the the tradable type. I advise that you seperate the non-tradeble one from the pack for the time being, so you know which one it is later. The next step involves choosing weather or not you want the control of the stampede units to be delayed. Delaying control makes it better... trust me. If you dont want to delay control.. skip to the last step, and dont make any of the units flagged as "uncontrollable" in the moster pallete. Add the sound and string list tags that I will send to you. Then, import the map actions that I will send to you in loathing. in the map actions window, click on the map action that says "Stampede Units", in the top box. In the middle box, click on the thing that says "monster_identifyer". In the third box, delete everything thats in there, then click on all your stampede units. If you are doing this correctly.. you will see them added in the third box as you click on them. LAST STEP: make sure all your stampede units are flagged as "netgame target". This can be done faster by dragging a selection box around them and selecting "edit marker" from one of the menus (im not sure which one it is, but its at the top). If you decided to make the stampede units tradable, make the tradeble type of stampede units have a few invisible ones (how many is up to you). --------------- Hunting: This is easy... just select the units you want in the monster selection window, they shuold be flagged as team index -1, hunting target, abient life and uncontrollable. Also flag them only for hunting. This is the easy part.. the hard part is making sure you are using the right kind of unit... In the monster seleciton window, you will notice that there is often a "(hunting)" or "(hunted)" tag on the end of some units. Use these ones. Next, place the units all over the place. --------------- Quick overview of scenery requirements of gametypes: Body Count: no requirements Last Man on the Hill: lmoth flag (team -1), note you can have multiple lmoth flags (not advised however) Steal the Bacon: stb ball (team -1), note you can have multiple stb balls (not advised however) King of the Hill: koth flag (team -1), note you can use a koth ball in place of a flag (not advised however) Territories: terries flag (team -1), make sure every start has at least one flag, then add at your discretion.
