"The Ascent" is the first Myth II map by Daniel Currie. It features:
  • 5 player starting locations
  • 3 variants (Dark, Darker, Darkest), to extend the versatility of the map.
  • Suitable numbers of units for solo or team play.
  • Extreme height and terrain differences to increase strategy in gameplay.
  • Unique unit selections for an entirely new Myth II experience.
  • Support for all Myth II netgame types.
  • Realistic sound effects and inanimate models.

The current version of "The Ascent" is the final and last version (aside from any unforseen bugs fixes, etc.).

Changes made from version b1.1:

  • Decreased the vertical range of the displacement map, so that the visibility is not inhibited by the height of the mountain.
  • Added more detail to the color map, made it look more realistic and interesting.
  • Increased the shade's cost to 36 points in the "Darkest" variant.

Changes from version b1.0:

  • Fixed Hunting on all 3 variants (used the wrong deer type in b1.0).
  • Removed hunted deer from innapropriate game types.
  • Reduced the shade's number of popping attacks to 1, in the "Darkest" variant.
  • Changed myrkridia to berserks in "Darker".
  • Changed berserks to myrkridia in "Darkest".
